VideoMajic was founded in 1999 by John and Maxine Rolls, and is a non-profit making community based group.  Their first drama was made with the assistance of the South Pembs Young Farmers Club and the Eastend Flyover.  Since then, they have been joined by actors, musicians, cameramen and other enthusiasts from all over the county, and have now recently completed their twelfth full length drama – a musical based on “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens..

Although drama is the main interest of VideoMajic, they have also produced several promotional videos, recorded live concerts, and most recently produced the souvenir DVD for the Carew500 event.

“STAKE & CHIPS” was originally written in 1995, as a murder mystery dinner party, with only a small number of suspects.  The game was played locally on several occasions with huge success.  It was then submitted to a marketing company in the United States who were also very enthusiastic about the format, and were particularly excited about how well the game played even with people who had no experience in acting.  They also enjoyed the ironic humour injected into it, which ensures that the game can be enjoyed by everyone, even if you cannot work out the solution to the murder plot..  Sadly, the US company fell into liquidation before the game was mass produced and the idea shelved for over a decade.

John & Maxine Rolls had considered making a film of the story for some time, but were never happy with the draft copies of the scripts.  The game relies upon interactivity, and that was just not possible to recreate on video or DVD.  Recent upgrades to the VideoMajic website has suddenly made this exciting project possible
